As you may have noticed, the cinemasquid.com website has undergone a slight overhaul. Beyond the new look, which we hope you will appreciate, the main goal was to improve support for international Blu-ray movie releases and we will be adding a good number of these to the database over the next few weeks with emphasis given to UK and Canadian releases first. Another important goal was to improve some of the under-the-cover mechanics to make day-to-day maintenance of the site more straightforward which should help us keep the listings more up-to-date and accurate. Additionally, the changes have laid a better foundation for the addition of new site features and we've some interesting ones on the drawing board.
At the moment, however, the functionality of the site remains essentially the same as before. The site URLs have changed significantly, but we've tried to make all of the old links you may have bookmarked lead to sensible locations. This was not always possible though and the transition may not be completely seamless. In particular, the old "Movie Matrix" has been rolled into the regular movie list section as a special view that is limited to only a video specs, audio specs and a combined specs view. A fully customizable matrix may make a reappearance if there is demand for it, so let us know if there was something special that you were doing with it that can no longer be done in the new movie list or on one of the other pages.
Since the new website still lacks any form of built-in feedback or commenting feature (well, it is still just an online "database" after all), this is as good a place as any to post any rants or raves you may have about the past, present and future of the Cinema Squid Blu-ray Movie Database.
P.S. This month marks the approximate one-year anniversary of the website, at least according to our latest hosting bill, so break out your Chocolate Squid Cake.
